What's the difference between a standard forklift and a rough-terrain forklift?
Standard cushion-tire forklifts are designed for smooth, indoor warehouse surfaces. Rough-terrain forklifts have pneumatic tires and higher ground clearance, built for outdoor job sites, gravel, and uneven surfaces. If your application is on a construction site or unpaved area, you need rough terrain. If it's inside a warehouse, standard is fine.
Do forklift operators need to be certified?
Yes. OSHA 29 CFR 1910.178 requires that all powered industrial truck operators be trained and certified for the specific type of forklift they operate. Certification must be renewed every 3 years. Our wet hire operators hold current certifications. If your employees will be operating the forklift, they must have a valid forklift operator certificate.
